Bike Trail News

Dear owners,

Your voices have been heard! Please see below update from FDOT!

Dear Mr. Ken Egan,

I hope this letter finds you well.

On behalf of the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), I would like to provide an important update regarding the ongoing study for FPID: 447514-1 Livingston FPL Trail Extension from Radio Road to the Collier County Line.

As part of the study, FDOT evaluated two potential alternatives for the trail alignment: one along Livingston Road and another utilizing the Florida Power & Light (FPL) easement that traverses the Briarwood neighborhood. We appreciate the time and effort your community members have taken to share their concerns and feedback regarding the alternative within the FPL easement.

After reviewing public feedback, including concerns from members of your community, FDOT has decided to remove the segment of the FPL easement alternative that passes through the Briarwood Community from further consideration. Going forward, the study will focus exclusively on the Livingston Road alignment for that portion of the trail.

We would appreciate you sharing this information with the Property Owners Association, as we have observed a significant increase in comments submitted through the project website from residents of Briarwood.

Should you have any questions or wish to discuss this update further, please do not hesitate to contact me directly at 863-519-2832 or adam.rose@dot.state.fl.us

Thank you for your continued cooperation and engagement.

Best regards,

Adam Rose
